Exam Days: OOTDs and Illustrations

Exam Day: Part I (December 4, 2014)

My heart is beating so fast. Don't you just think it's weird to feel so incapable when you know that you've been preparing for this moment for a considerable amount of time. But for some weird reason, your mind starts giving you irrational explanations as to why you might just not pass. You tend to wonder if all your choices will affect your situation in the future- that if you wear the wrong ensemble today, you might just be choosing the best outfit for disaster. It's crazy, right? But it is so real!

Because of that, you browse through all your available clothes and choose what you think is the best one. By the time you've made a choice, your mind starts making this whole new scenario with your outfit on. And it's a cycle all over again. It's as if making a choice has become a pivotal period in your life that will determine whether you will move forward or leap 10 times back. It's beginning to be frightening.

Today, I made a choice...

I paired together a green-striped summer cropped-top and a tight-fitting black leggings for a comfortable look. In order to avoid the infamous camel toes or at least, hide it, I opted for a long-sleeved polo with a dyed-shirt effect to tie around my waist. To complete the look, I went for the good old ankle boots and a navy blue shoulder bag.
If you're wondering why I decided to dress casual for an extremely important occasion, the answer's simple. When you're heading for an event that will most likely make you feel uncomfortable, why should you make yourself feel uncomfortable before the said event? There are a lot of things and situations in this world that may/can cause you uneasiness; the least you can do is give yourself a break by being comfortable in your own skin- that includes what you're wearing, carrying and how you're walking.
Of course, this rule is applied only for events that provides no dress code. If they did, don't be a rebel without a cause and just follow the request because it's not your event in the first place for you to make a scene. Don't be a drama queen!

Okay, I'm going on a tangent. Let's move on.

Exam Day: Part II (December 6, 2014)

It honestly started out the same. An hour wasn't enough to figure out my ensemble for the day. But since it's an exam, I opted for something comfortable, yet again.

I grabbed my striped knitted sweater and washed-out skinny jeans for that laid-back look, and completed the ensemble with the classic black-and-white sneakers and a studded neon green-apple beanie. And of course, my good-old navy blue shoulder bag for paraphernalia.

Some would say that it was out of context wearing a shoulder bag instead of a backpack when you're clearly going for a laid-back look. However, keep in mind that backpacks can be bulky and too much of a hassle when you're travelling. Small purse-like shoulder bags like this are perfect when you're not the type who brings her entire house when going out. Just make sure you have the essentials!

Did I mention that I went straight to Tagaytay after the exam, unplanned? It was the perfect outfit. However, be wary of the crazy humid air in the country if you're going for this look. Above room temperature is necessary.

Well, that's it for now! Hope you enjoyed the illustrations. Have fun mixing and matching!
